So… who the heck am I, you ask? I’m @KrissyFair (which you can probably guess is a less-than-clever monicker based on, but not quite exactly like, my real name). A former molecular biologist, a student midwife, a happy wife to Mr. Fair, a proud attachment parent to my Little Man and my Lady Fair, and a proud Canadian.
And, what’s this all about? Well, for the last 3 years I’ve spent several hours per day operating a (5-star!) Breastaurant for my littles, which means I’ve had several hours per day to contemplate… and this is my repository for the machinations of my brain. I think about breastmilk as a real and local food; breastmilk and food security; breastfeeding as a minimalist endeavour; breastmilk as a 100% renewable resource; and breastfeeding as the perfect marker for how we’re doing on human rights, feminism and social justice.
So there you have it: Parenting, Food Culture, Crunchiness, Human Rights, Feminism and Boobs. Lots of boobs.
P.S. It should also be mentioned that just because I have lots of time to think, doesn’t mean I have equal quantities of time to write down what I’m thinking. Bear with me through the days of sporadic posting.
